Turkey – Istanbul

Istanbul is a hotbed for fusion. Stuck in a perfect blend between the East and West. If you’re looking for a destination that brings color, sights, and sound into a cosmopolitan experience, this is the perfect destination for you. The mix of cultures adds a new dynamic to the city with stunning mosques, churches, and Sultans’ palaces. In the mix of all these faiths, you will find nightclubs, world-renowned restaurants, and contemporary art galleries. On top of all this, Istanbul is a melting pot of modern 21st-century happenings.

Being home to more than three empires in the Byzantine, Ottoman, and Roman, a mix of Islamic and Christian sites are found at every turn. After a short trip on one of the Bosphorus ferries, you will reach Üsküdar. Known for its Ottoman architecture, delicious food, and vibrant streets. A little further out of the city, you will be greeted by the Bosphorus villages that are home to perfect examples of wooden Ottoman houses, the fortress of Rumeli Hisari, and the quaint little village of Arnavutköy.

The Netherlands – Nijmegen

As one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, Nijmegen offers lots of picturesque scenery and historical locations dating to the Roman empire. These landmarks are especially notable in the city’s center. A short distance from the German border, the Nijmegen region occupies an idyllic location between the Meuse, Rhine, and Waal rivers.

Not only rich in historical culture, but Nijmegen is also a hot spot for cozy restaurants, street cafes, shopping, and much more. The city has a sense of natural liveliness around it, which may be why there are so many fantastic events and festivals held here. Nijmegen has replaced Amsterdam and Rotterdam as places the Dutch would like to visit, and the city has also ranked among the best youth destinations to visit in Europe.
